Her submissions were always entitled “My Media Statement,” and started with a greeting and a self-evident preamble. I am a fan of stating the obvious, so “I wrote something down that I would like to be published in my magazine article” is, to my mind, a very dynamic lede.

Each page was addressed separately and signed individually by the author herself. They were numbered, but the sequence of pages did not always indicate an unfolding logic.
